About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • Orthopedic Surgery

Jason Welter, D.O. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who grew up the son of a United States Air Force optometrist. His family moved to several cities throughout the U.S. and around the world, living in Greece, Turkey and Germany.

Dr. Welter earned his bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He then obtained his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. He served a surgical internship in San Antonio, TX and then his orthopedic residency in York, PA.

Following that residency, he served for four years as an active-duty orthopedic surgeon at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, which included a 7-month deployment with Special Operations Command to Africa. After completing his military service, he served a fellowship in orthopedic trauma in Dayton.

Dr. Welter says he was particularly drawn to orthopedics trauma surgery because without warning anyone can experience a life-altering event/injury that only surgery can mitigate and return that patient to health. He always wants to be part of that restorative care.
