We have received 16 national awards for clinical excellence in the past decade, and most recently, Bethesda North Hospital was named one of the top 50 hospitals for inpatient cardiovascular services by Thomson Reuters. Our unified network of cardiologists in coordination with cardiac surgeons offers the most advanced, comprehensive treatment options at multiple locations across the city.

Innovation and unparalleled expertise in minimally invasive procedures are hallmarks of our cardiac services. We're the region's best in minimally invasive heart procedures and surgeries – some of which are not available anywhere else in Cincinnati. We stand out because:

• We perform 650 open-heart surgeries, more than 5,700 cardiac catheterizations, and nearly 2,200 angioplasties annually.
• Our highly regarded cardiologists and surgeons perform the widest range of cardiac procedures in the area.
• Through our integrative Heart Failure Navigator program we improve patient understanding of discharge instructions and medications so they can feel more comfortable upon their return home. We also follow up with each patient to ensure they are taking the necessary steps for staying healthy.
• We have equipped Advanced Life Support squads in four counties of Greater Cincinnati with special monitors to allow paramedics to transmit EKG data directly to hospital personnel awaiting a heart attack patient's arrival. The advance notice allows quicker diagnosis and treatment of heart attacks.
• Through HeartCaring, our Institute provides education for women of all ages about their heart health and helps to link them to the best physicians who specialize in women's heart care.

Comprehensive and Advanced Treatments

Our multidisciplinary experts not only provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment options, but are also leaders in using the most advanced techniques, resulting in the best all-around outcome for our patients. The TriHealth Heart Institute has pioneered cardiac care for more than a generation, performing Cincinnati's first cardiac catheterization and the first open-heart surgery in a private adult hospital. More recently:

• We were the first in Cincinnati to use robotics in cardiac surgery.
• Our Institute is the regional leader in robotic-assisted surgery, including cardiac bypass surgery and valve repair and replacement.
• We are the only Institute in the area regularly using radial artery (wrist) access for cardiac catheterization and angioplasty.
• Our cardiologists are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia, known as an irregular heartbeat, and the only hospital in the city offering a full range of options for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, including catheter ablation and mini-maze procedures.
• The TriHealth Heart Institute is the only hospital in the region to use stereotaxis during catheter abalation and the first hospital in Greater Cincinnati to offer the Arctic Front® Cardiac Cryoablation Catheter.
