Renovations to Good Samaritan Hospital’s Clifton Lobby and Emergency Department began in March. The project not only will transform how the hospital looks from Clifton Avenue, but also will improve how it serves patients.
Highlights of the project include:
- Constructing a new Clifton Lobby in the current Clifton Entrance driveway.
- Features include an expanded registration area
with easy access to the Fifth and Sixth floors.
- Expanding the Emergency Department. The expansion will increase capacity from 33 to 45 beds, serving an additional 15,000 patients per year, and provide space for a dedicated CT scanner.
Construction has forced the temporary closure of the Clifton Entrance, and the following changes:
- Clifton Registration has moved up one floor to the Seventh Floor of the Clifton Building. To access Clifton Registration, park in the Visitors Garage, entering via Dixmyth Avenue, and take the garage’s East Elevators to the Seventh Floor.
- Occupational Health, Employee Health and Executive Health have temporarily moved to the Seventh Floor. Follow directions for Clifton Registration.
- Emergency Department patients will continue to park on Level 6 of the Clifton Garage and will have access to the hospital via the ED. All others should enter at the Dixmyth Avenue entrance. There will be no hospital access through the ED for non-ED patients.
- Valet parking will be available on Level 6 for ED patients and on Level 5 for Maternity admissions and restricted outpatients, including Breast Center patients.
- The Clifton drive will continue to provide access to the Medical Office Building. However, MOB patients are strongly encouraged to use the entrance on Dixmyth Avenue to access the Visitors Garage and MOB parking.
- There will be no drop-off or pick-up area available off of Clifton Avenue. All patient and visitor drop offs and pick ups, should be done at the Dixmyth Avenue Entrance.
For more information about these changes, go to the Good Samaritan Hospital Directions and Parking page.
