Gerald Oliphant Named TriHealth Chief Operating Officer

Gerald P. Oliphant has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of TriHealth beginning Feb. 26.
Oliphant joins TriHealth from the Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland, Ohio. His most recent appointment was chief operating officer of the western region where he previously served as vice president of business development. The region includes Fairview, Lakewood and Lutheran community hospitals totaling more than 700 beds.

Prout, TriHealth president and chief executive officer. “He is genuinely passionate about developing a patientcentered health care system built upon clinical quality, physician and community relationships, datadriven visioning, staff development and sound fiscal management.”
Oliphant’s strategic leadership spans all aspects of health system management. His 18-year career at Cleveland Clinic included key positions in Cleveland, Naples and Fort Lauderdale, and also at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He also held key management positions at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, University Hospitals of Cleveland and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Oliphant is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives. He currently serves on the board of the Cleveland Clinic Health System Physician Organization and previously served as a board member of the Cleveland Health Network Managed Care Organization. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State University (Ohio) and bachelor of arts degree in social sciences from Youngstown State University (Ohio). A native of Boardman, Ohio, he is married with one child.
