TriHealth's tobacco-free/smoke-free policy effective Jan. 1, 2007

TriHealth is joining the Greater Cincinnati Health Council and other area hospitals in having
tobacco-free/smoke-free campuses. TriHealth chose Nov. 16, the day of the Great American Smokeout, to prohibit the
use of tobacco and smoking products while in the facilities as well as the surrounding grounds for employees,
medical staff and volunteers. On Jan. 1, 2007, the tobacco-free/smoke-free policy will be extended to patients,
guests, vendors, contractors and tenants.
TriHealth has made the decision to have tobacco-free/smoke-free campuses to provide a safer and
healthier environment for all. It is TriHealth's intent eventually to be a tobacco-free/smoke-free health care
system. Initial implementation will include the following campuses:
Bethesda North Hospital
Good Samaritan Hospital
Bethesda Oak - TriHealth Corporate Offices
Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs
TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion
Group Health Associates
Hospice of Cincinnati (patient exceptions with physician approval)
