January 20, 2012 - The average person gains 5-7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day and preventing those unwanted holiday pounds was the goal of a recent wellness initiative from TriHealth Corporate Health.

Working with United Performance Metals (UPM) the ‘Maintain, Don’t Gain’ program coached UPM team members on healthy behaviors, making it more likely for them to maintain or lose weight over the holidays.

“TriHealth is continually impressed with the involvement and excitement surrounding wellness from UPM team members. ‘Maintain, Don’t Gain is’ a great program to help end the year healthy and get started on the right foot in 2012. We have 31 team members participating and starting the New Year on a healthy note!” said Erin Pauley, Wellness Coordinator for TriHealth.

31 team members from UPM participated, and 21 of them (68%) either maintained or lost weight. Trish Fisher led the pack and lost over 5% of her total body weight during the program.

"United Performance Metals was pleased to partner with TriHealth in our latest wellness initiative, which stressed maintaining current weight levels during the holiday season. TriHealth does a great job offering well-rounded programs to our team members, and once again we saw excellent results. We are looking forward to our annual Biggest Loser initiative starting in February," said Sherri Davis in Human Resources at United Performance Metals.
