TriHealth offers grief support services at no cost to children, through Fernside: A Center for Grieving Children, a national leader in grief support. Established in 1986, we are the nation's second oldest children's grief center and work continuously to deliver the best grief support services and community outreach programs possible.
National Leader in Helping Children
An affiliate of Hospice of Cincinnati, our Center addresses the unique needs of children and provides the following services, free of charge, with the help of generous donors:
- Peer support groups serving over 900 children, teens and adults annually
- Camp Erin - Cincinnati program, providing summer camp and retreat experiences
- Community Outreach, including in-school grief groups, education and training and publications
Support for Parents
Parents who have experienced pregnancy loss or neonatal death such as miscarriage, stillborn, ectopic pregnancy, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome can attend a monthly meeting offered by TriHealth. Parents share experiences and explore the natural feelings of anger, sadness and depression that accompany the grieving process.
