Department of Surgery faculty

Teamwork between our general surgery residents and faculty is an essential component to the success of our program, and residents learn from our committed faculty with extensive experience in general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, surgical-oncology, bariatric surgery, colo-rectal surgery, open and endovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. With neighboring institutions offering services not provided at Good Samaritan Hospital, our residents have the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with leaders in academic surgical education through participating in rotations in trauma, burn surgery, pediatric surgery, and transplant surgery.
A multitude of our faculty members participate in basic science and clinical research, presenting at national meetings and producing numerous award-winning projects and published manuscripts each year. Working as research team leaders, faculty members oversee resident research in an individual mentor or team approach, allowing residents the opportunity to produce a wide variety of presentations and publications.
Since the inception of Good Samaritan Hospital in 1852, our surgical faculty has provided a level of commitment to research, education, and patient care that can not be mirrored. Major advancements in the field of surgery have culminated from the hard work and dedication of our faculty, which continues to propel our program to new heights.
