Good Samaritan Hospital Heart and Vascular Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Leading cardiologists and cardiac surgeons provide medical, surgical and interventional treatment of heart conditions including clogged or blocked arteries, heart valve disease, and irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). They perform 350 open-heart surgeries annually, along with more than 2,700 cardiac catheterizations and nearly 900 angioplasties.
Good Samaritan has been a pioneer in cardiac care for more than a generation, performing the first cardiac catheterization and the first open-heart surgery in a private adult hospital in Cincinnati, as well as being the first in Cincinnati to utilize a TMR laser for treatment of angina and radial artery access for cardiac catheterizations and angioplasty.
Good Samaritan is a regional leader in robotic-assisted surgery, and was the first in Cincinnati to use robotics in an open-heart surgery. Robotic-assisted surgery is an alternative to traditional open-heart surgery, with tiny incisions, less pain and quicker recovery. Today, cardiac surgeons at Good Samaritan are using robotic-assisted surgery for cardiac bypass surgery to repair or replace heart valves, and to treat and cure arrhythmia.
Good Samaritan is a regional leader in the diagnosis and treatment of irregular heartbeat, known as arrhythmia. It was the first area hospital to treat and cure a-fib with a procedure called ablation. Today, Good Sam has more experience in this procedure than any area hospital. Good Sam is the only hospital in Greater Cincinnati using stereotaxis technology for these procedures. This system harnesses the power of magnets and computers to allow physicians to perform a-fib ablations and other procedures with even more precision and less risk of injury to nearby heart tissue.
