TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion's Health Promotion department strives to keep our members and the community up to date on the latest health and wellness trends through screenings, classes, and seminars that promote healthier lifestyles.

Programs include healthy cooking classes, Doc Talks, Exercise the Mind classes, Healthy Lifestyle and health screenings. Weight loss programs offered include BodyGem Metabolism testing, nutrition consults with our licensed registered dietitian, LifeSteps Weight Management, and our LifeSteps support group.

Weight Management

The TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion offers a variety of weight management options. Programs are open to members and nonmembers.

LifeSteps Weight Loss classes

Take the FIRST STEP towards managing your weight – now and forever. We are pleased to offer LIFESTEPS, a proven weight management program that incorporates current medical research with physical activity and group support. This comprehensive 12-week program provides ongoing guidance for healthy eating, increasing physical activity, and strategies for successful behavior change. An emphasis on personal choice, responsibility, and accountability sets this behavioral approach program apart from other weight management methods. This course will be taught by a LifeSteps-certified registered dietitian and includes an individual nutrition consultation as well as a semi private weekly exercise sessions including personal trainer oversight. Members $295, non-members $350, TriHealth employees $295.

Metabolism Testing with BodyGem Metabolism Measurement

The BodyGem Metabolism Measurement device calculates the number of calories you burn at rest each day. You will breathe normally into a mouthpiece, while at rest, for five to 10 minutes. For best results, you are advised not to eat, exercise or smoke for about four hours before testing. You will receive results immediately and may combine the assessment with a nutrition consultation. $75 for measurement only members and nonmembers/$104 for measurement and one-hour dietitian consultation members and nonmembers. Nutrition Consults

Our registered dietitians offer one-hour consultations for individualized help with your nutritional goals. By taking control of your food choices—without giving up all the foods you love—you can improve your weight, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and overall health. Wellness Lectures

Appetizers and Answers: Physician Series

Enjoy appetizers while TriHealth physicians provide answers to commonly asked questions
regarding a variety of medical themes. In October we welcome orthopedic surgeon,
James Amis, MD. Dr. Amis will discuss the future of prevention and treatment of many

7–11 a.m. Yoga Sampler

Experience the wide array of Yoga classes offered by the Pavilion, while learning how
Yoga can aid digestion. Thinking about heading back to school? Yoga school, that is.
As a part of our sampler, come meet this year’s TriHealth Yoga School instructor, Will
Brashear, and get a taste of his teaching style.

12–1:30 p.m. TriHealth Digestive Institute Physician Panel and Luncheon

Discuss your digestive health as it relates to stress, celiac disease, IBS, and more; healthy

Activities throughout the Pavilion will include complimentary chair massage, nail polish
changes, free kids’ swimming lessons and healthy food samples! The first 100 members

Recipe of the Month:

Baked Cinnamon Apples

o 4 baking apples
o 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
o 4 teaspoons margarine
o 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Remove core from apples and place upright in baking dish, placing two tablespoons brown sugar, 1-teaspoon margarine and 1/8-teaspoon cinnamon in the center of each apple. Pour water into baking dish to 1/4 inch depth.

Bake at 375° F for 30-40 minutes, or until tender.

Makes 4 (1 apple) servings.
