With more than 100 combined years in the field, George Kerlakian MD and TriHealth Weight Management's medical professionals are Cincinnati's most experienced at helping patients lose weight and gain the skills to keep it off. We use a coordinated team approach, where our professionals partner with you every step of the way through screening, implementing the program or surgery, and two years of monitoring to help you successfully maintain the lifestyle changes you have acquired. Kerlakian_200xGeorge Kerlakian MD 

George Kerlakian MD is a physician and surgeon at Group Health Associates. His expertise in the field of bariatric surgery earned him the additional role of medical director for TriHealth Weight Management.

Dr. Kerlakian has experience in laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass as well as laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAP-BAND®) and laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, performing more than 1,500 bariatric procedures to date. Under Dr. Kerlakian's direction, TriHealth Weight Management has earned accreditation as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by both the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and Anthem.

In addition to his expertise in bariatric surgery, Dr. Kerlakian specializes in general surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. At Good Samaritan, Dr. Kerlakian serves as president of the medical staff, chairman of the General Vascular Surgery Section and as associate program director of the hospital's Surgical Residency Program.

Dr. Kerlakian earned his medical degree from St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and completed his residency in general surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Tymitz_200xKevin Tymitz MD 

Kevin Tymitz MD is a physician and surgeon at Group Health Associates. Dr. Tymitz completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He received additional specialized training in weight loss surgery at Johns Hopkins University as a clinical fellow in minimally invasive, robotic and bariatric surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Toledo. Dr. Tymitz is board certified in general surgery. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
