Dr. Ammara Afzal believes strongly in preventive medicine
– in fact, that’s what drew her to family medicine. She
is passionate about helping patients live a healthy life
through the avoidance or early detection of illness and
disease. She enjoys meeting new people and developing
long-term relationships with her patients.
As a board-certified physician, Dr. Afzal provides
comprehensive care for all ages, from birth through
geriatrics. She sees patients for the prevention, diagnosis
and treatment of acute and chronic illness, as well as the
management of chronic conditions like hypertension
and diabetes. Dr. Afzal creates a welcoming and
nonjudgmental environment, treating patients as if they
were family. She likes to educate patients about their
conditions and options, assuring they have everything
needed for informed decisions. She encourages everyone
to not smoke, citing the many ways tobacco impacts
both the smoker and their loved ones.
Born in Pakistan, Dr. Afzal moved to the United States
to serve her residency. She and her husband have two
children. She volunteers her time to mentor medical
students in Pakistan. She loves exploring new cultures
and cuisines, travel and movies.
