Bethesda Hospitals Paramedic Training Program
offers a unique opportunity for a certified EMT-B or EMT-I to further their
career by advancing to the paramedic level.
Follows National Standards
The Paramedic Training Program is a hospital-based program accredited by the
Ohio Department of Transportation. The ten month course follows the national
standards set by the United States Department of Transportation for paramedic
training programs. Graduates are prepared for the National Registry Examination.
Historical first-time pass rates are 90%.
Maximize Your Knowledge
We employ a unique approach to paramedic education by offering in-depth classroom
instruction, with a personalized clinical experience provided by our faculty
on a one-on-one basis. This course is structured to include didactic sessions
(290 hours); and lab, field, and hospital clinical rotations (410 hours); for
a total of 700 hours of intensive paramedic instruction.
Admission Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current EMT-B or EMT-I certification in the State of Ohio
- Eighteen years of age or older
- Current drivers license
Candidates who meet the admission criteria will
be eligible to complete the application process. This process consists, in part,
of pre-tests designed to evaluate your reading level, math skills and EMT-B
general knowledge. A personal interview will be scheduled after the candidate
attains a passing score on these examinations.
Applications are distributed in January and
pre-tests are given in March.
Classes begin in late August and are held Thursdays
from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Clinical rotations are scheduled throughout the TriHealth
and area hospitals and emergency facilities.
Tuition
Tuition includes books, parking, and a student uniform shirt.
