TriHealth Was Showing the Love at Pride
Story provided by Brian Planalp of Cincinnati Refined
The timely, uplifting, and highly colorful event that was Cincinnati Pride Week came to a mesmerizing conclusion on Saturday, June 25 at Sawyer Point.
The sweltering Pride Festival capped a full week of activities that began the previous Saturday with a Cincinnati Men's Chorus Pride Concert. Weekday events included a fundraiser at Below Zero Lounge, a Pride Run, a Pride/3CDC Movie Night at Washington Park, a Pride InterFaith Service, and a Pride Community Recognition Ceremony. (Now that's brand cohesion.)
TriHealth was there from beginning to end, joining such fellow Rainbow Sponsors (the highest class) as Procter & Gamble, Kroger, and Fifth Third Bank in supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ community.
"TriHealth is thrilled to return as a Rainbow Sponsor for this community-wide celebration of inclusiveness within the entire Greater Cincinnati community. We were proud to be the first health care provider to sponsor Pride in 2014. Since that time, we have added the Senior Comfort Tent to provide a comfortable place for our seniors within our community to relax, cool off, and enjoy the celebrations. In 2016 we added golf carts to assist those needing assistance to get from their cars or downtown to the festival space. Our partnership with Cincinnati PRIDE has also helped TriHealth to continue creating a healthy community as the exclusive health care provider of the Cincinnati Pride weekend. We look forward to returning in 2017," says Jeanette Altenau, Director of Community Relations for TriHealth.
TriHealth's team volunteered to work a booth at the event, where they provided thousands of Pride attendees with information about preventive medicine while delivering TriHealth's message of inclusivity and support.
TriHealth's Senior Vice President Steve Mombach took in the Sawyer Point festival alongside the volunteers. "Look around, this is great," he told me. "It's so much fun!"
A standing ovation to TriHealth, the City of Cincinnati, and everyone who showed their support throughout the week.
