TriHealth On Call: Saving Lives Through Lung Cancer Screening

Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the US. Treatment is complicated by the fact that symptoms often don’t appear until late stages of the disease. But early detection and advances in lung cancer treatment can increase survival chances. That’s why people at a higher risk of lung cancer should consider lung cancer screening.

This segment of TriHealth On Call features Andrew Parchman, MD, a medical oncologist with the TriHealth Cancer Institute and Douglas Adams, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon with the TriHealth Heart Institute and the TriHealth Lung Cancer Screening Program. They provide more information about who should consider lung cancer screening and what advances in treatment are available to improve the chances of survival for patients whose cancer is diagnosed early through screening.
