Tracy Littleman, an athletic trainer at the TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion discusses proper use of an elliptical machine. A Local 12 viewer wrote in to ask about getting numbness in her feet while exercising, as well as experiencing some early nausea.

Combat Foot Numbness

One way Tracy suggests avoiding foot numbness is by breaking your elliptical session into a series of shorter segments (a few minutes at a time). “But also, look at your foot placement on the elliptical,” she tells Local 12’s Liz Bonis. “If numbness or injury might occur, you need to look at how you’re standing on it.”
