Top 3 Ways to Maintain Good Health
Greg Noble MD, a primary care physician at Health First Physicians in Loveland, describes the top three things adults can do to stay healthy and prevent illness.
Tip #1: Sleep Right
His first recommendation for good health is maintaining a proper sleep schedule, which, for most people, means eight hours of quality sleep each night. “As a country, we’re chronically sleep-deprived,” Dr. Noble explains. “It boosts the immune system, helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and improves mood.”

Tip #2: Eat More Produce
The second key is nutrition, which includes a high-fiber, low-fat and plant-based diet.
Dr. Noble also suggests focusing on lean meats that are lower in saturated fats and calories. “When we do eat meat, it should be lean meat – chicken and fish, ideally. And, we want to make sure that we have, probably, six to eight serving of fruits and vegetables every day.”
Tip #3: Schedule Exercise
“Most of us really need to find a way to incorporate exercise into our daily schedule,” Dr. Noble says.
While he recommends that 30 to 60 minutes of exercise five to six times each week is ideal, “realistically, I think three sessions of 30 to 60 minutes of some kind of cardiovascular exercise every week is really helpful to overall health.”
