We pride ourselves in unmatched patient care with prompt exam interpretations. All imaging studies are reviewed by an on-site radiologist from Medical X-ray, Inc. MXI Radiologists are ABR Board-certified and approximately half hold additional subspecialty fellowship training. Our imaging services include:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a modality which utilizes a strong magnetic field and radio frequencies to produce images that radiologists use to diagnose various diseases and injuries. MRI uses no radiation, however there are medical conditions which are contraindicated for this exam. Your technologist will ask you pertinent medical history questions to determine if you are a candidate for this examination.
Your exam will take approximately 20-45 minutes in length. During your examination there may be the need for an intravenous contrast injection. This will also be discussed by your technologist. During the MRI procedure the scanner makes many different noises similar to “knocking” noises. You will be provided with earplugs and/or headphones for your comfort. Please feel free to bring your favorite music CD for your enjoyment during the scan. And lastly, you will be asked to change into hospital approved clothing when you arrive for your safety when entering the MRI room.
Computerized Tomography (CT)
Computerized Tomography (CT) is a specialized x-ray machine which rotates around your body while taking images of your body. The CT machine utilizes x-radiation to form images to allow the radiologist to help diagnose various diseases and injuries.
CT examinations last typically 10-25 minutes. Your CT examination may require an injection of iodinated contrast media. This is done through an IV established by your technologist. If you have a known iodine sensitivity, please notify your technologist.
Evendale Imaging Center utilizes digital radiography which has the most advanced techniques available in radiology.
Radiographic exams range in exam times from 5-45 minutes.
We offer fluoroscopic guidance for gastrointestinal exams as well as traditional radiographic exams. Your physician will instruct you as to particular preps for your exam.
Ultrasound - General and Vascular
Ultrasound utilizes sound waves which bounce off of structures in the body to determine anatomical variances and diseases. Ultrasound uses no radiation and has no contraindications. Ultrasound is used to evaluate abdominal structures, pelvic anatomy, small organs, and vascular (blood vessel) imaging.
Ultrasound exams typically take from 15 to 40 minutes to perform depending on the body part to be examined.
