Sarah Belew Cox, Psy. D.
Dr. Cox is a licensed Psychologist who specializes in treating women’s behavioral health concerns. The most common presenting problems in her practice include mood disorders, anxiety, reactions to trauma, relationship problems and psychological reactions to physical health problems.
Being a psychologist allows Dr. Cox to help women help themselves by changing thinking patterns, learning strategies for coping with emotional distress or developing an understanding about how past events are impacting current functioning. As a female provider, she believes that gender-responsive treatment is very powerful, so she offers high quality services through the lens of a woman’s needs and perspective.
Integrating physical and mental healthcare needs is a major movement in the healthcare industry. It is imperative that treatment providers work closely with a multidisciplinary team to consult about a patient’s overall care. Dr. Cox’s treatment heavily emphasizes the relationship between mind and body and how physical and mental symptoms are interrelated.
