Through healthy eating and lifestyle changes, our Weight Management Center’s non-surgical program addresses weight loss similar to a chronic condition – no different from diabetes or hypertension. Prevention and management become the focus.
TriHealth believes in working in partnership with primary care physicians to address weight loss issues with patients.
Our medically managed program includes access to professional care from a multi-disciplinary team to include specialty certified bariatricians, dieticians, nurses and psychologists. They have a focus on helping you with weight loss while monitoring and promoting positive impact to your overall health.
We use a variety of tools to help you succeed beyond diet and exercise. Some of them are outlined below:
1. Medgem Metabolism Testing
Using the Medgem Measurement device, we are able to calculate your BMR/RMR (which is the number of calories your burn at rest each day). You will breathe normally into a mouthpiece, while at rest, for 5-10 minutes. For best results, you are advised not to eat, exercise or smoke for about 4 fours before the testing. You receive results immediately and our bariatricians will use your results to help choose your meal plan with you to include the correct caloric intake.
2. Healthwise Meal Plan
HealthWise is a partial meal replacement plan for weight loss. TriHealth Weight Management incorporates the HealthWise products in combination with supervised physician and dietitian visits. The plan is easy to follow and is full of variety and great taste. By using the protein shakes, protein bars, soups, entrees, and even barbecue chips the plan will assist you with losing weight and will teach you how to keep the weight off for good.
The HealthWise Plan is specially formulated to work based on the obesity treatment science of using high-quality protein-filled meal replacements, portion, carbohydrate, and calorie control principles in daily meal planning. This combination allows the body to achieve favorable fat loss while preserving lean muscle mass. The 3 phases that make up the plan are the weight loss phase, evolution phase, and the maintenance phase. The 3 phases are described below.
The HealthWise Weight Loss Plan:
- The Weight Loss Phase includes a variety of great tasting HealthWise products and one “Selfie” meal a day that you shop, cook and prepare yourself. This phase is where the weight loss starts.
- The Evolution Phase will teach you how to incorporate all kinds of foods back into your plan while maintaining your weight.
- The Maintenance Phase is for the rest of your life. You will learn to manage your weight with smart healthy food choices!!

3. Weight Loss Medications
Weight loss medications can be prescribed to help assist in your weight loss program after it has been determined that it is a safe and effective tool for you. While on weight loss medications, you must be carefully monitored.
