One of the most common hand afflictions, it shows up in the form of intermittent numbness or tingling of the thumb or fingers. Pain may be either dull and aching or sharp and shooting.
Causes vary. It could be pregnancy, diabetes, a wrist fracture, a blow to the wrist or something else entirely. Treatment varies as well, depending on severity of symptoms. For many patients, night splinting or cortisone injections work. Sometimes, surgical release of the carpal ligament in the palm is necessary.
Our physicians have vast experience with all treatments for carpal tunnel. Their goal is to get patients back to work and recreation as quickly as possible.
