Some people, such as those with a family or personal history of breast cancer, might be at a higher risk of developing this disease. We offer a comprehensive risk assessment, including an early-detection and risk-reduction program so you can start preventing breast cancer now. All patients enrolled in our program receive:

Initial Risk Assessment

An initial risk assessment that identifies whether you might have a higher risk for breast cancer. Several things are considered in this evaluation, including:

• Family history
• Previous biopsy results
• Mammogram density

Further Evaluation

Further evaluation includes a risk assessment tool, such as this breast cancer risk assessment tool provided by the National Cancer Institute.

Screening

Our highly trained staff provides screening through the use of state-of-the art mammography services, or, if appropriate, MRI.

Risk Reduction Strategies

Risk reduction strategies, if appropriate, will be discussed. These may include:

• Genetic testing
• Medication such as tamoxifen therapy, hormone replacement therapy, diet, dietary supplements, and lifestyle issues as they relate to breast cancer risk and prevention.
