While Dr. Aleesha Montoya has always wanted to help people, it was her interest in the human body and how it works that led her to medicine. She likes the challenge of putting the pieces together to determine each patient’s needs and what will help them. She loves seeing the joy patients feel when they achieve a goal or hit a milestone.
Dr. Montoya sees patients from age 7 through geriatrics for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. She believes in lifestyle medicine, using evidence-based changes to daily living to treat chronic conditions and improve overall health. She also performs skin procedures, like biopsies and excisions, and musculoskeletal procedures, including joint injections. Dr. Montoya challenges her patients to be a better version of themselves by identifying their goals, motivations and barriers. She then acts as a guide to help them to become a healthier and happier person.
A native of Northern Kentucky, Dr. Montoya and her husband have three children and two dogs. She is a fan of local sports teams, especially football and soccer. She is interested in architecture and design. She also enjoys exploring the science behind wine and bourbon.
