TriHealth on Call: How Talking to Your Baby Helps Brain Development
October 24, 2019

New research shows that 85 percent of brain development happens in the first three years of a baby’s life. The more words a child hears in the first three years of life, the stronger the connections in his brain will be. In this segment of TriHealth on Call, TriHealth Chief of Pediatrics Joseph Bailey, MD, explains how communicating with your baby can help brain development. He provides tips on what to talk about with your child, including what types of words are most beneficial. He also discusses what TriHealth is doing as part of the new Early Learning City project to give new parents tools, resources and information to help them promote brain development.
