Nearly 400 guests attended theBethesda LYCEUM to help raise almost$150,000 in support of The RoboticsCenter of Excellence at Bethesda NorthHospital. During the reception, guestsenjoyed cocktails and a hands-onrobotics experience with the daVinci XIrobotics platform. The reception wasfollowed by dinner and an introductionfrom TriHealth’s President and CEO,Mark C. Clement. Dr. Mark Delworth,TriHealth System Chief of Surgery andDirector of the Robotics Program atBethesda North Hospital, shared theprogram at BethesdaNorth Hospital, whichranks #1 in robotic surgeryvolume in Ohio, perIntuitive Surgical Inc.
Dr. Delworth’spresentation wasfollowed by this year’skeynote speaker, Dr.Hugh Herr, Director ofthe Biomechatronicsgroup at The MIT MediaLab in Cambridge,Massachusetts. Dr.Herr shared how amountaineering accident,which left him as a doubleamputee, inspired him todevote his life to advancingtechnology for prostheticdevices.
