Mark Clement Announces Retirement
March 20, 2026

After 11 years of dedicated leadership, Mark Clement will step down as president and CEO of TriHealth on June 30, 2026, closing a chapter defined by growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to people and purpose. When Mark returned to his hometown in 2015, he expected to serve for six to eight years. Instead, he has successfully led TriHealth through one of the most dynamic and challenging decades in healthcare.

During Mark’s tenure, TriHealth grew into a nearly $3 billion health system and the region’s third largest employer, expanding access to care through six new ambulatory campuses, major investments at Western Ridge Medical Center, and the addition of Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, OH. The system strengthened key clinical service lines, advanced a multiyear modernization of Good Samaritan Hospital, and maintained an “AA” credit rating, even as health systems nationwide faced significant post‑pandemic pressures, all while continuing to grow and serve our community.

Equally important to these accomplishments was Mark’s focus on building TriHealth into a truly integrated and unified system. When he arrived, hospitals, practices, and ambulatory sites often operated independently. Today, a shared culture and identity connect our teams across the organization. That culture – the TriHealth Way of Leading, Serving, and Delivering Care – became the foundation for TriHealth’s nationally recognized shift toward proactive population health in which we prioritize prevention and earlier detection, enhanced access to care, and a more consumer‑focused experience.

Fulfilling a promise he made to the board when he first arrived, he leaves TriHealth with strong internal leadership ready to carry the mission forward. Terri Hanlon‑Bremer, TriHealth’s chief operating officer, will succeed him as CEO on June 1, 2026. A registered nurse by training who started her career with TriHealth 38 years ago, Terri has served as a trusted TriHealth leader since 2007 and a deep operational expertise and an unwavering commitment to our people, culture, and community.

While Mark is stepping away from day‑to‑day leadership, he is quick to say he is not retiring. He plans to remain engaged locally, publish a book on transforming health care through the consumer lens, and continue speaking nationally about the future of the industry. Reflecting on his time at TriHealth, Mark described it as “the love of my life,” adding that it has been a privilege to serve alongside the people who make this organization what it is.
