TriHealth announced plans for a new 88,000-square-foot expansion on the Good Samaritan Western Ridge Ambulatory Campus in Green Township. The project, which will result in a 141,000-square-foot outpatient medical campus, will expand access for the community in both primary care and specialty services, such as the TriHealth Cancer and Heart Institutes.

“Health care consumers increasingly want convenient access to high-quality programs and services,” said TriHealth President and CEO, Mark C. Clement. “By expanding the Good Samaritan Western Ridge campus, we are creating a health care destination for the west side community offering much needed primary care, as well as our nationally recognized cancer and cardiovascular programs, in addition to our full range of Outpatient and Emergency Department Services currently available.”

As part of the project, TriHealth will construct a two-story addition on the side of the existing building to accommodate the primary care physicians and expanded cancer services, including radiation oncology and an infusion center.  Overall, the expansion will house 14 new primary care physicians --  adding to the largest primary care physician network in the region -- and 17 new specialists in cancer, heart, endocrinology and cosmetic surgery.

The building is expected to open in the winter of 2020. Site excavation and land preparation for the expansion has already begun.

The expansion project at Western Ridge complements other on-going projects underway throughout TriHealth. Those projects include the Liberty Township Ambulatory Campus construction in Butler County and building of the Harold M. and Eugenia S. Thomas Comprehensive Care Center, a new four-story, 135,000-square-foot project on the Bethesda North Hospital campus that will serve as a regional center of excellence and “one-stop” destination for the most advanced cancer care and heart services.

Once the project is complete, Good Samaritan Western Ridge is expected to have over 500 team members on the campus, the majority of whom are in nursing, medicine and other clinical positions.

“Green Township is excited to see the long-term commitment from TriHealth with their announced expansion of their Good Samaritan Western Ridge campus,” said Tony Rosiello, Vice Chairman of the Green Township Trustees. “State-of-the-art technology will provide new services to western Hamilton County residents as well as Southeastern Indiana and beyond. Health Care just took another big step forward today and we’re all beneficiaries.”

Now a well-established member of the west side community, Good Samaritan Western Ridge opened in the fall of 2010 at 6949 Good Samaritan Drive in Green Township. Offering Good Samaritan Hospital-quality health care services, Western Ridge includes a 24-hour, full-service emergency room with ambulance access and a helipad; diagnostic services including X-ray, CT, EKG, and vascular studies, and laboratory services. Primary care and specialist physicians on campus provide easy access to care and seamless coordination with all TriHealth providers.
