TriHealth athletic trainer James Muncy, ATC was named the 2012 Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Ohio Athletic Trainer's Association (OATA).
Muncy is contracted through TriHealth to be the athletic trainer for Wyoming High School. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from Wilmington College and a Masters of Science in Educatino from the University of Dayton and will also complete his Educational Leadership degree this year from the University of Dayton. Muncy is a very active member of the OATA and serves on multiple committees within the organization. His education and leadership has been a great asset to the profession, organization, and Athletic Training community.
“I have been fortunate enough to be around some really great Athletic Trainers of the Year who have really helped me develop professionally and were able to model to me how to conduct myself as an athletic trainer,” said Muncy. "Receiving the OATA Athletic Trainer of the Year Award means a lot to me as I have been recognized by my peers for doing my part to promote the profession, and sharing my passion for what I love to do.”
"James is truly deserving of this honor," said TriHealth Sports Medicine Program Manager, Greg Lynn. "He demonstrates leadership in comprehensive prevention, management, and treatment of student athletic injuries. Student athletes locally and statewide benefit from his contributions as an athletic trainer."
James will be formally awarded this honor at the 2012 OATA State Meeting and Symposium at the Hilton Fairlawn on May 11, 2012.
