TriHealth President and Chief Executive Officer John Prout announced Tuesday (July 3, 2012) that Sher McClanahan has been appointed the new Senior Vice President of System, Clinical and Operational Transformation for TriHealth. McClanahan is currently the Chief Operating Officer at TriHealth’s Bethesda North Hospital.
As the SVP for System Clinical and Operational Transformation, McClanahan provides oversight for system initiatives related to quality, efficiency and effectiveness efforts. These efforts will be designed to drive improved service and deliver value based outcomes for physicians, hospitals and the community. Sher will work throughout the organization to develop strategic and tactical initiatives that increase operational efficiency while enhancing quality and service.
“These initiatives are critical to the success of TriHealth today and over the next decade, as we look to support new payment structures and ensure successful financial outcomes for our organization,” said John Prout, President and CEO of TriHealth.
McClanahan has many years of experience in hospitals and health care delivery networks including roles as care provider, leader, teacher, mentor, and coach with a consistent focus on the patient experience and strategies to improve quality, safety, service and value. Sher has provided clinical care as a registered nurse, held executive positions with hospitals and consulted with some of the largest healthcare systems in the United States and Canada.
A Cincinnati native, McClanahan holds an undergraduate degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Xavier University. She has been in her role as the Chief Operating Officer of Bethesda North Hospital, TriHealth for nearly 13 years.
Dave Dornheggen is the COO of TriHealth’s Good Samaritan Hospital will also serve as COO of Bethesda North on an interim basis until a replacement strategy is defined.
