January 18, 2012 - TriHealth has been named among the top 20 percent of all health systems nationwide by Thomson Reuters. In comparison with its peers, TriHealth, including Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals, and other top systems have lower mortality rates, fewer complications, better patient safety, shorter average length of stays, and a better overall hospital experience.
“TriHealth is proud to be independently and nationally recognized for being a leader in high-quality patient care. Our strong partnerships between our hospitals, physicians and the communities we serve means improved, efficient, and safe care for our patients,” said John Prout, President and CEO of TriHealth. “Being identified as a top health system confirms the commitment of all our doctors, nurses, and team members to providing the best possible care for our patients.”

TriHealth was one of 21 medium health systems to place in the top quintile. Thomson Reuters defined ‘medium’ as a health system with $750 million to $1.5 billion in operating expenses. The study evaluated 321 health systems on eight measures of clinical quality and efficiency. The study was released exclusively to Modern Healthcare and the top 49 health systems represent the top quintile. To be included, a system must contain at least two short-term, general, acute-care hospitals. Publicly reported Medicare and Medicaid data is aggregated across hospitals in a system and compared to systems of similar operating expense size.
“TriHealth is physicians, hospitals and communities working together to help you live better," said Dr. Georges Feghali, Senior Vice President of Quality and Chief Medical Officer for TriHealth. “This award proves our efforts to strengthen the collaborative partnership between our physicians and hospitals is paying off for our patients through continuous quality improvement."
TriHealth is nationally recognized as an integrated health system. With the largest regional network of physicians and patient-centered medical home physician practices, two award-winning hospitals, medical centers, a Cancer Institute and Heart Institute, corporate health and wellness programs, senior services, and a fitness and health pavilion, TriHealth leverages a wide range of resources and technology to improve the health status of patients and innovate models of care.
