TriHealth Names Marla Santos Silliman New Senior Vice Presidents of the Good Samaritan Region

TriHealth announced today that Marla Santos Silliman will join the health system as the new Senior Vice President of the Good Samaritan Region. She replaces Rob Cercek who was promoted to Executive Vice President of Population Health and TriHealth Physician Enterprise in early December of 2017.  Marla will begin work in Cincinnati on April 9th and report directly to TriHealth’s President of Health Services and Chief Operating Officer, Gail Donovan.

Silliman comes to TriHealth from Orlando, Florida where she served as the Senior Executive Officer for the Florida Hospital for Children and Women’s Network since 2006. While there, Marla led the development, building and oversight of the Florida Hospital for Children statewide network and the Florida Hospital for Women network. During this time, Silliman also led the strategic development and oversight of more than 35 specialty programs and the recruitment of more than 200 physicians.

“Marla is a seasoned healthcare executive with a strong reputation and decades of proven, positive results in highly competitive markets,” said Donovan. “She will be a wonderful addition to our leadership team, and we are confident in Marla’s ability to build on our record of success in the Good Samaritan Region, which is becoming an increasingly competitive market.”

In addition, Marla oversaw construction of the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children and Florida Hospital for Women, and establishment of several collaborations with institutions such as the Johns Hopkins Children’s Heart Surgery program at Florida Hospital, the Duke-affiliated pediatric bone marrow transplant program and the UPMC-affiliated pediatric transplant program.

In her new role, Marla is responsible for promoting the TriHealth mission, core values and vision through effective operational processes, quality initiatives and financial management. She will also be responsible for ensuring quality of care, service excellence and community benefit.

Last year, Marla was selected by Modern Healthcare Magazine as “Top 10 Women to Watch Nationally.” In the past several years, she also has been recognized by Orlando Life Magazine’s “Orlando’s 25 Most Influential Women,” the Orange Appeal Magazine’s “Woman of the Year,” and i4 Business Magazine’s “Winner in Business: Spirit of Innovation.”

Marla began her career as a registered nurse, working in Loma Linda, CA; Fitchburg, MA; and Bronx, NY. Prior to her current role, she served in a variety of administrative healthcare roles, including Administrative Director of Surgical Services at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Westchester Square Medical Center, the Director of Ambulatory Care Services at Mount Sinai in New York, Vice President of Specialty Services at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, TX, and Senior Vice President at the Florida Hospital Institutes.

Marla earned a B.S. in Nursing from of Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts and her M.B.A. from the Hagan School of Business at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.
