TriHealth, Cincinnati’s nationally-recognized healthcare provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Ward as Executive Vice President and System Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As TriHealth’s COO, John will work closely with clinical and administrative leadership teams across TriHealth to ensure consistent top-level operational performance and support clinical innovation. He takes over the role from Terri Hanlon-Bremer, who was named TriHealth’s President and Chief Executive Officer on June 1.
“John’s leadership, both within TriHealth and in the Bethesda North region, has played a vital role in advancing our mission,” Terri said. “As COO, John will be instrumental in ensuring our patients receive the care they need, when and where they need it, supported by our culture of clinical excellence and the TriHealth Way of service. His leadership will further strengthen proactive, coordinated care that supports the lifelong health and wellbeing of every patient we serve.”
John has served TriHealth for more than 20 years, including as Director of Ambulatory Systems, Chief Information Officer and, most recently, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations for the Bethesda North Region. Over the last six years, he has overseen the successful completion of the five-year master facilities plan upgrade on the campus of Bethesda North Hospital, which has included the additions of the Thomas Comprehensive Care Center, the TriHealth Heart Hospital, and newly renovated hospital facilities.
“I am humbled and honored at the opportunity to serve as TriHealth’s COO,” John said. “Recognizing the importance of both physical and behavioral health, our mission is to care for the whole person by partnering with each patient to proactively nurture their health and wellbeing at every stage of life. Serving our community with compassion and excellence is at the heart of everything we do at TriHealth, and it’s what makes this work so meaningful. I am honored to continue TriHealth’s tradition of Getting Healthcare Right.”
SVP of the Good Samaritan Region and Bethesda North Hospital
Jeramiah Kirkland, Senior Vice President of the Good Samaritan Region, will assume expanded responsibilities for operational leadership and oversight of Bethesda North Hospital. As SVP of the Good Samaritan Region and Bethesda North Hospital, Jeremiah will work closely with hospital presidents, team members, physicians and leaders to expand access, streamline care delivery, and enhance efficiencies. Together, John and Jeremiah will help ensure TriHealth continues to deliver coordinated, high-quality care to meet the evolving needs of our community across both urban and rural settings.
Building upon existing expertise, other TriHealth senior leaders will expand their scopes of responsibility in other operational areas, including advancing TriHealth’s population health care model and strengthening academic partnerships. These changes reaffirm TriHealth’s commitment to proactive, patient-centered care as well as stewardship. By delivering exceptional, high-quality care at an affordable cost, we honor the trust our patients place in us, today and for a lifetime.
