As a child, Alaina James, PA-C, watched her mother, an
occupational therapist, leave a profound impact on her
patients and knew she wanted to do the same. As a teen,
she had the privilege of helping care for her grandfather’s
journey with liver cancer. She is inspired by the ongoing
development of new treatments and the opportunity to
bring renewed hope to patients.
As a certified physician assistant, Alaina partners with
patients and their families throughout every stage of the
diagnosis and treatment process for cancer. She also
provides palliative care, ensuring the patient’s physical
and emotional needs are thoughtfully addressed. Alaina
tailors her approach to meet each person’s specific needs
and goals. She wants patients to feel comfortable and
supported, recognizing that their diagnosis does not
define them. She emphasizes healthy habits, including
movement, diet and stress reduction. She encourages
everyone to take time to do something they enjoy every
day.
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Alaina moved to the area with
her soon-to-be husband, who grew up in Dayton, OH.
She enjoys working out, cooking and cheering for the
Buffalo Bills. She cherishes time spent with family and
friends.
