About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • General Surgery

Kshitij Kakar, MD, comes from a medical family his parents are both physicians, his sister is a dentist, and multiple extended family members practice medicine. Influenced by his father, who is a general surgeon, he found that he enjoyed the ability to directly help patients through surgery.

Dr. Kakar takes a personalized approach to his practice, treating each patient as a family member. He values his time with patients and believes that effective communication is essential to understanding patients and their problems. He focuses on educating patients about their surgical issues and plan of care, encouraging patients to ask questions to ensure understanding. His goal throughout the process from pre-operative consultation through postoperative recovery is to use compassionate, expert care to return patients to their expected quality of life.

Taking a team-based approach to care, Dr. Kakar also enjoys the challenge of learning new treatments, techniques and technologies to improve patient care and outcomes. By placing the patient at the center of this approach, his team works collaboratively to ensure the best surgical outcomes.

In his spare time, Dr. Kakar and his wife love to travel. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys staying active through running, being outdoors and CrossFit.

The doctor spent time with me making sure I understood my choices. It Is my experience that you don't often find doctors who care enough to do that?.

The doctor was great he spoke to us on a level that we could understand. He didn't use a bunch of big words. He even drew a picture to explain what he was going to do. My husband and I lived that.
