About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • General Surgery

Dr. Ricardo Maddela comes from a medical family – both parents are physicians, as is one sister, while another sister is a nurse practitioner. He grew up seeing his family serve their community and wanted to continue doing that as well. For 13 years, he worked with his father, also a surgeon, in his hometown of Henderson, KY.

At TriHealth, Dr. Maddela sees adult patients for general surgeries, including gall bladder, hernia, colon and small bowel. He also performs minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Dr. Maddela creates a calm and open environment where he can listen to his patients’ concerns. He believes in covering all benefits and alternatives so his patients can make the final decision on what’s best for them. He emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet for overall wellbeing.

Dr. Maddela met his wife, who is a family medicine doctor, during undergraduate studies at Xavier University. They have a son and are happy to be returning to the area to practice at TriHealth. Dr. Maddela enjoys sports, especially basketball, traveling and spending time with family. He also collects sports memorabilia. Dr. Medella was very kind and clear in his descriptions and very efficient in doing what needed to be done without coming across as sterile.

I had a very good experience with this doctor, I was given good oral instructions on caring for the wound. However I would have appreciated the instructions in a written form also.
