A Smarter Way to Navigate with Cartogram

Finding your way through a hospital campus can be overwhelming, especially when you are already focused on an upcoming appointment or supporting a loved one through theirs. At Bethesda North we’re taking a major step towards making navigation simpler, clearer, and more intuitive for every visitor. By upgrading our partnership with Cartogram from Tier 1 to Tier 2, we’re introducing a more robust, digitally enabled wayfinding solution that meets patients wherever they are within our system.

This initiative supports our broader commitment to creating a seamless, stress-free healthcare experience for every individual. Importantly, it enhances the in-person guidance our teams provide every day.

Patients, guests, and team members can access easy to use, web-based wayfinding tools via a simple link or by scanning a QR code.

This experience will allow users to get driving directions to the correct parking lot, find the right building entrance, and navigate within our buildings on foot to key locations.

Looking ahead, we will be expanding the functionality by embedding the navigation tool directly into MyChart. This will enable appointment specific directions directly tied to scheduled visits, providing a completely personalized experience for each user.

Before rolling out broadly, TriHealth is launching a pilot program to ensure the experience is accurate and intuitive. Based on the pilot results, we will move into a phased rollout, expanding to additional departments, while continuously working to refine the experience.

This initiative represents more than a technology upgrade, it is a meaningful step toward a more patient-centered, accessible care experience. By combining intuitive tools like Cartogram with the compassionate support our team members already provide, we are making it easier for every patient and visitor to feel cared for from start to finish.
