TriHealth has a strong history of graduate medical education and the training of the physician leaders of the future. TriHealth is excited to announce the launch of a new residency program in Anesthesiology, with the first class of residents beginning their training in June of 2027. The four-year program, accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education, will welcome six new residents per year with a full complement of 24 residents when fully enrolled. The residency will be based at Bethesda North Hospital, but residents will also rotate at Good Samaritan Hospital and other sites in the TriHealth network. This will be a collaborative effort with the 7 Hills Anesthesia group, who provide anesthesiologists at TriHealth facilities.
Creating a new residency in anesthesiology will enable TriHealth to build this program around the resident physician experience. Because TriHealth is a diverse health system, residents will have exceptional clinical exposure to complex cases. The residents will also enjoy close mentorships with an experienced and engaged faculty. Our strong administrative team will help to provide support for the residents as they progress through the program.
There is a growing demand for anesthesiologists, both locally and nationally, and creating a new residency program to serve the Greater Cincinnati area and beyond will help to address this need. The anesthesiology residency will focus on the growth and development of the training physicians in terms of their medical knowledge, their clinical skills, and their technical abilities. They will acquire and develop their skills through extensive hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of complex cases in such areas as cardiovascular, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and obstetric anesthesia. The program leaders aim to educate well-rounded and highly competent anesthesiologists.

The most significant benefit of creating a new residency program at TriHealth is the focus on serving the health of our community. The new residency program will concentrate on the improvement of patient care, providing safe and high-quality care to individuals, while at the same time educating physicians who will be the future leaders in the field of anesthesiology locally, regionally, and nationally.
