TriHealth is excited to announce the launch of its Anesthesiology Residency Program. The first class of categorical residents will begin training in July 2027.
The Anesthesiology Residency is based at Bethesda North Hospital, offering residents a robust clinical experience not only at this primary site but also across multiple TriHealth locations. Clinical education is delivered through a collaborative partnership between TriHealth and Seven Hills Anesthesia, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
This categorical four-year, ACGME-accredited program will welcome six new residents each year, ultimately supporting a total of 24 residents when fully enrolled. Residents will benefit from diverse clinical rotations, dedicated faculty mentorship, and a curriculum designed to prepare them for successful careers in anesthesiology.
We look forward to welcoming our first cohort of residents in July 2027. Application season for the inaugural class will open in September 2026 through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). If you are a medical student interested in applying, please check back for updates on application dates and program details as the application period approaches.
TriHealth offers a unique training environment that combines the strengths of a large, integrated healthcare system with the close mentorship and autonomy of a community-based residency program. Our anesthesiology residents benefit from excellent clinical volume, broad case complexity, and a culture that prioritizes education, professionalism, and physician well-being.
As a new program, TriHealth Anesthesiology has been built intentionally around the resident experience. From curriculum design to clinical scheduling, every aspect of the program prioritizes meaningful learning, progressive responsibility, and early development of independence.
Residents train across a diverse health system that delivers high-acuity, high-volume care in both tertiary and community hospital settings. This breadth ensures strong preparation for any future career path, whether academic, private practice, or fellowship training.
With six residents per class, trainees benefit from close faculty mentorship, consistent feedback, and personalized career guidance. This structure fosters a collegial learning environment and allows residents to take ownership of their education while developing confidence and autonomy earlier in training.
Residents work alongside dedicated anesthesiology faculty from Seven Hills Anesthesia, the largest private practice anesthesia group in southern Ohio. Faculty bring diverse subspecialty and fellowship training backgrounds and share a strong commitment to teaching, mentorship, and resident success.
TriHealth is deeply rooted in its mission to improve the health of the communities it serves. Residents train in an environment that values teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate patient care—while emphasizing sustainability, wellness, and long-term career fulfillment.
