Program Director’s Address

Welcome to the TriHealth Anesthesiology Residency Program! We are pleased to share information about our program and appreciate your interest in joining our inaugural class. 

The mission of the TriHealth Anesthesiology Residency Program is to train and develop competent, compassionate, and adaptable physicians who possess the clinical expertise, judgment, and professionalism required to become outstanding anesthesiologists. In alignment with TriHealth’s mission—to improve the health status of the people we serve—our program is committed to preparing residents to deliver safe, timely, equitable, and patient-centered care within a high-quality, community-based healthcare system.

As a new residency program, we have had the unique opportunity to design our curriculum intentionally, with resident education and experience as the highest priorities. Our training model emphasizes progressive responsibility and graduated autonomy as residents advance through the program. Educational components include structured didactics, simulation-based training (see TriHealth’s state-of-the-art Clinical Training & Testing Center), morbidity and mortality conferences, flipped-classroom learning, and comprehensive board preparation.

Residents at TriHealth will receive broad and rigorous clinical exposure across the full spectrum of anesthesiology. Training includes experience in critical care, obstetric anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, cardiothoracic anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, regional anesthesia, and the management of acute and chronic pain. With a small cohort size of six residents per class, trainees benefit from consistent faculty engagement, close mentorship, and early development of clinical independence. Our core faculty represent diverse training backgrounds and subspecialty expertise and have been carefully selected for their commitment to education and resident development. Faculty anesthesiologists are members of Seven Hills Anesthesia, the largest private practice anesthesia group in southern Ohio, providing residents with exposure to a robust and diverse clinical practice environment.

We seek residents who are passionate about anesthesiology, collaborative by nature, and committed to excellence. Ideal candidates are motivated learners who wish to actively participate in shaping their education and contributing to the growth of a new, high-quality residency program.
