The Trauma Services Department at TriHealth's Bethesda North Hospital is proud to announce it has been awarded the Safe Communities Grant in the amount of $102,000 from the Ohio Department of Public Safety. This marks the eighth year Bethesda North has been awarded this grant.

Grant funds provide Hamilton County Safe Communities the opportunity to continue the mission of bringing together law enforcement agencies, city and county civic leaders, engineering professionals, area hospitals, local businesses and schools, with the mutual interest of traffic safety.

This coalition uses multiple strategies including education, public awareness and high-visibility enforcement to improve traffic safety.  These efforts ultimately prevent motor vehicle crashes that cause injuries and death to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.

HCSC uses state and national data to target areas of improvement when it comes to traffic safety behaviors. HCSC promotes seat belt use for all drivers and all passengers, pedestrian safety, teen driver safety, abiding speed limit, and highlighting the dangers of driving while impaired or distracted.

Bethesda North Trauma Services continues its strong commitment to injury prevention. These funds allow HCSC to further the goal of improving traffic safety throughout Hamilton County.
