Visiting Loved Ones at TriHealth: What You Need to Know
Policy takes effect on September 1, 2025
Effective September 1, 2025, TriHealth’s new general visiting hours are 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily at Bethesda North Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Bethesda Butler Hospital, and McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
Between the hours of 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, each patient will be permitted one approved visitor.
Additionally, many lobbies across TriHealth hospitals will now be closed outside of general visiting hours and entrance doors will be locked.
- Bethesda North Hospital: The main lobby will be locked at 9:00 PM daily. Visitors may access the hospital through the ED lobby between the hours of 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
- Good Samaritan Hospital: The Clifton lobby will be locked at 9:00 PM daily. Visitors may access the hospital through the Dixmyth lobby or ED between 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
- Bethesda Butler Hospital: The main lobby doors will be locked between the hours of 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM on weekdays, and 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM on weekends and holidays. Visitors may access the hospital by contacting Protective Services.
- McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital: The main lobby doors will be locked between the hours of 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM on weekdays, and from 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM on weekends and holidays. Visitors may access the hospital through the ED lobby.
- Hospice: Any time, 24 hours a day
- Maternity Services/LDR: Refer to current Maternity Policy below (MAT 183 Visitation Guidelines for Families and Friends)
- Adult Behavioral Health (not Senior): 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday; 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, Sunday and holidays
Exceptions for the general visiting hours apply to Maternity Services/LDR, Adult Behavioral Health and Hospice, and those approved by the care team, house supervisor and Protective Services onsite leadership.
We recognize the positive impact visitors have for our patients. The revised general visiting hours will help maintain this compassionate healing environment for patients and visitors alike while enhancing a safe work and practice environment for TriHealth team members and providers.
Minors and Children Visitors Under the Age of 14: Children under the age of 14 must remain in the physical presence of an adult other than the patient. Duration of the visit will be determined by the patient’s condition as decided by the patient’s care team.

Antepartum and Postpartum
- Antepartum and Postpartum patients are allowed visitors, including the patient’s children. There is no bedside limit.
- If sibling(s) of infant is younger than 14 years old, they may be considered as visitors if they have supervision from another adult besides the patient.
- We welcome your Doula’s continuous support throughout your time at TriHealth. Because the Doula is not employed or contracted by TriHealth, they will be considered a visitor but with two special exceptions:
- Doulas will not be counted towards your allotted visitor count even if visitor restrictions are implemented.
- Doulas are not required to abide by posted visitor hours.
- Visitors of patients with respiratory illness (Covid, flu, RSV etc.) will be asked to mask while in the hospital. Visitors with personal respiratory illness are asked to refrain from coming to the hospital.
Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Two (2) visitors at a time may accompany the maternity patient during their stay. The two (2) visitors may rotate in and out.
- One (1) support person may accompany the maternity patient. The support person must be the same person throughout the entire maternity stay.
- In cases of adoption or surrogacy, up to two (2) additional visitors are allowed in L&D so that the patient in labor and the fetus are both supported and represented.
- If sibling(s) of infant is younger than 14 years old, they may be considered as visitors if they have supervision from another adult besides the patient.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Good Samaritan Hospital
- Two (2) bracelet-holders (must 18 years of age or older) plus four (4) visitors placed on the unit visitor list will be allowed to visit the NICU. The visitor list may be updated every 30 days.
- Only two (2) visitors allowed at the bedside at a time.
- Visitors (non-bracelet holders) must be 16 years of age or older; bracelet ID number and photo ID required.
- Bracelet Holders and Visitors with Respiratory Illness (including inpatient mom), need to be symptom free for 24 hours to visit the NICU. A mask must be worn while visiting for 10 days after symptom onset.
Special Care Nursery - Bethesda North Hospital
- A maximum of four (4) visitors per family may be permitted at a time in the Special Care Nursery (SCN).
- Primary support person (father or person selected by mother) will be able to visit without the mother of the baby 24/7 as long as they have the second baby ID bracelet.
- Secondary Support Persons:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Bracelet ID number & photo ID required o Secondary support persons may visit 24/7 without mother/primary support person but may NOT bring in other visitors with them.
- Bracelet Holders and Visitors with Respiratory Illness (including inpatient mom, need to be symptom free for 24 hours to visit the SCN. A mask must be worn while visiting for 10 days after symptom onset.
