At age 14, Dr. Alexandra Lawson knew she wanted to be a physician, an idea reinforced by her volunteer work at Bethesda North Hospital during her teen years. She loves the continuity of care that family medicine provides, allowing her to develop long-term relationships, watch families grow and practice a diverse set of medical skills.
Always service-driven, Dr. Lawson also wanted to serve in the military. After medical school, she served three years in the US Air Force in Mississippi, caring for active duty members, their dependents and retirees.
As a board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Lawson sees patients of all ages, from birth through geriatrics. She provides comprehensive care for acute and chronic illnesses. She also offers women’s health care and conducts gynecological procedures, like IUD insertion and birth control implants. Dr. Lawson believes in empowering patients to manage their health, taking time to discuss important information and ensure understanding. She encourages everyone to find a good balance of adequate exercise, healthy nutrition and sleep to assure a more fulfilling life and to be present for loved ones.
Originally from the Cincinnati area, Dr. Lawson and her husband have two sons. She enjoys cooking, baking, reading, running and following the Cincinnati Reds.
