To say that Dr. Howard Bernie comes from a medical family might be an understatement. In the late 1970s, his family was listed in the Guinness Book of Records for the most physicians in the immediate family. With more than 40 years of experience practicing gastroenterology in the Cincinnati and Oxford areas, Dr. Bernie focuses on the health of the digestive system in adults. He believes in spending time during appointments to make his patients feel comfortable and relaxed. He also allows ample time for questions. He urges everyone to live a healthy lifestyle free from tobacco, drug and alcohol use, exercising regularly andfollowing preventive medicine recommendations, including screening colonoscopies starting at age 45.
Dr. Bernie and his wife have two adult children, a son and a daughter. They also have a rescue dog, Shayna, who has spoiled them immensely and who enjoys long walks and long road trips with the couple. Dr.Bernie enjoys playing golf and volunteers one day a week as a part-time ranger for a local public golf course.
