Dr. Julia Lee is living the American dream. Having immigrated to Houston, TX, from South Korea at age 13, she went on to graduate from medical school in the top 5% of her class. Her interest in OB-GYN stems from her mother having home births for her nine children. Dr. Lee remembers seeing a sister born and being in awe.
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Lee sees adolescents and adults for the full spectrum of women’s healthcare. She is particularly interested in high-risk obstetrics, obstetric emergencies and gynecologic surgery. Dr. Lee performed the first robotic surgery at Mercy Fairfield Hospital and has proctored other surgeons in the use of the robot. An accomplished vaginal surgeon, she also performs minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Lee creates a relaxed and comfortable environment to allow her patients to speak freely. She encourages everyone to eat mindfully and exercise regularly to live a healthy life.
Married to a physician, Dr. Lee has two children who are also pursuing medical careers. As she has been blessed, she gives her time and energy to the underserved by participating in medical missions abroad. She considers fitness a lifestyle and works out regularly at a local gym.
