Throughout his successful professional career as an engineer, Ronald Merkel, MD, was interested in merging his love of engineering with his passion for medicine. Seeking to make a bigger impact on the health and well-being of those around him, he pursued his medical degree. Today, Dr. Merkel provides a comprehensive range of gynecological services for women in every phase of life. He specializes in minimally-invasive and robotic surgical options for gynecological surgeries. As every patient and every condition is unique, he works closely with his patients to discuss the best avenue for care. For Dr. Merkel, the key to developing the best treatment plans comes from open communication and a priority on listening to his patients. Dr. Merkel's practice focus includes: General obstetrics and gynecology, prenatal, delivery and postnatal care, GYN surgery, including robotic and minimally-invasive procedures (e.g., hysterectomy, myomectomy), infertility treatment, routine annual exams and menopause management.

Dr. Merkel was very caring as always. Before he started the procedure, he told me that he was going to tell me what he was doing (step by step) and that if I felt uncomfortable or needed to stop at any point, to let him know. He was careful and very detailed with what he was doing.
