Health Talk Live: COVID-19 Update Heading Into Fall

In this segment of TriHealth’s Health Talk Live, Local 12’s Liz Bonis speaks with Stephen Blatt, MD, Director for Infectious Diseases with TriHealth Physician Partners, about the latest on COVID-19 as we head into fall with many schools and businesses re-opening.

Dr. Blatt shares encouraging news about the number of new cases coming out of the Labor Day holiday and provides updates on treatments for COVID-19, which are becoming more effective as scientists and medical professionals learn more about the disease. He explains which treatments are proving effective at reducing the duration of the disease and which are helping to reduce the need for ventilators. He also answers questions about what hospitals are doing to limit exposure to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 and the latest on the efforts to develop a vaccination against the disease.
