Bio
Cindy found her calling to be a Midwife over 2 decades ago. After working for 10 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner with both women and men, she discovered a new passion to work with women and be a part of women's labor and birthing processes. Cindy attended the Medical University of South Carolina for her Nurse Midwifery education, and during that time learned that there was so much more to being a midwife. She could be the one to help, stand witness, and facilitate women taking their power in their health care during one of their important events of their lives. She also discovered that health is so much more than we understand. To that end, she studied and became a Reiki Master . Cindy is one of the founding midwives of TriHealth Nurse Midwives since it's beginning in 2002. She considers it a true honor to work with the women she sees at TriHealth Nurse Midwives .

Bio
I began my nursing career in 1998, working as a Patient Care Assistant and then working as a L&D nurse later that year. After 14 years of working as a L&D nurse, in 2012, I decided to pursue a career in midwifery. Several of my nurse friends went on to become nurse-midwives and returned to work at the hospital I was working at. I longed to have patient relationships that lasted longer than my 12-hour shifts. I desired to establish lasting, caring relationships with women throughout the course of adolescence, preconception, pregnancy and needed gynecological care. Ibecame a midwife in 2014 and Istarted with TriHealth Nurse-Midwives in December 2016. I love being a part of the THNM team! Iam married to Chris and we enjoy traveling, being active, laughing and adding on to our back yard (when it's warm).

Always fascinated by babies and the birthing process, Rebecca Gavin, MSN, CNM, wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse. After working for 10 years as a registered nurse in the Neurology unit, she returned to school and gained certification as a midwife, allowing her to share her passion with her patients. Bio
Since my early teenage years I knew I wanted to help women and promote women’s health. I never dreamed my goal of health promotion would turn into such a large passion for Midwifery care. I started my career as a labor and delivery nurse where I was able to help families time and time again bring new life into the world. While I loved the work I did, I felt like something was missing. I wanted to celebrate the birth of a new baby with families while also getting to know them outside of the delivery. Midwifery is so much more than childbirth. Midwifery is building relationships, supporting women through whatever needs they may have, encouraging them to better themselves daily and cheering them on through every aspect of life. It is fully committing oneself to the lives of others and I am honored to be able to touch the lives of so many women on a daily basis. I am committed to serving others and I hope that I can continue to positively impact the lives of others through my work at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years to come.

It was the special care she received from a midwife when she was pregnant with her first child that made Meryll Thomas-Langford, CNM, decide to become a midwife herself. With a lifelong desire to go into medicine, she was already a labor and delivery nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit when she chose to further her education in midwifery.

Meryll sees women from adolescence through menopause for obstetric and gynecological care. She supports and cares for women during pregnancy, labor and birth, helping them stay healthy and give birth with little intervention if no complications arise. She loves bringing new life into the world and continuing those patient relationships long after the birth. Meryll creates a warm and welcoming environment, allowing her patients to confide in her. She encourages all mothers to make their own health care a number one priority so they – and their families – can life better.

Married to her childhood sweetheart, Meryll devotes her free time to her family, providing new experiences for the children and rooting for sports teams from her home state of Louisiana.

Bio
As a certified nurse midwife (CNM), my practice incorporates both the art of midwifery and the science of evidence based medicine . It is my goal to individualize each woman's care to meet her particular emotional, social and physical needs while offering high quality, safe care based on current research and nurse midwifery standards.

I believe each woman deserves a voice in her care and I strive to collaborate with her in achieving her health care goals across the spectrum of her lifetime. I have been involved in most aspects of women's health care beginning as a registered nurse thirty plus years ago. One of my favorite things about being a CNM is the privilege to be present for women during various times in their lives ranging from preconception to pregnancy and childbirth, and then continuing to provide well woman and other gynecology care . While delivering this care, I want to cheer their successes, support them in the hard times and help them maximize their innate female strength .
