Dr. David Alten found medicine at the intersection of loving science and wanting to help people. With his own pediatrician serving as a role model, he found himself drawn to pediatrics. He loves working with children, watching them grow and developing a long-term relationship with them and their families.
Dr. Alten sees patients from newborn through college age for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. He is particularly interested in preventive care and behavioral health. He brings a year of urgent care experience to his practice. Dr. Alten employs a shared decision-making process, involving his patients and their families in all treatment plans. He aims to create a non-judgmental atmosphere where people can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their concerns. He encourages everyone to take a proactive approach to health and to make the choices that will have the greatest impact in the long term.
A Loveland native, Dr. Alten is married and has a young child and a dog. He enjoys baking, playing board games and reading science fiction and fantasy. He also is a sports fan and roots for the Bengals, Ohio State and the Reds.
