Outpatient Care

Our providers are committed to working with you to provide the behavioral health services that best fit the needs of you or your child. Here are our behavioral health offerings in an outpatient setting your primary care provider may refer you to:

Behavioral Health Consultant

Visits with Behavioral Health Consultants are for any patient who would benefit from short-term behavioral health intervention. Patients must be referred by their Primary Care Provider. Same day appointments may be available or for those needing urgent interventions.

These visits can be for several health issues including anxiety, depression, weight management, medication adherence, insomnia, smoking cessation, chronic pain, diabetes and hypertension/cardiovascular disease.

Collaborative Care Program

The Collaborative Care Program is a pathway for treating patients with depression. This thirteen-week program supports behavioral change and lifestyle choices. A team of providers including your Primary Care Provider, Behavioral Health Consultant and Psychiatric Consultant collaborate for supportive care. Treatment includes talk therapies & medication management prescribed by the Primary Care Provider.

Pediatric Navigator

The Pediatric Navigator is for patients, ages 18 or younger, seeking behavioral health community resources for psychotherapy and psychological and/or diagnostic testing for illnesses such as ADHD and autism.

Resources for community psychiatry may also be provided for patients with complex mental health needs or in need of wrap around services.

Day Treatment Program (Partial Hospitalization Program)

The Day Treatment Program at Good Samaritan Hospital is an adult, mental health partial hospitalization service that provides crisis stabilization and brief-to intermediate-term psychiatric treatment.

Our structured, cognitive-behaviorally based treatment program benefits those clients who need a higher level of care than is available in a typical outpatient setting yet who do not require inpatient hospitalization.

Before the client begins treatment, an extensive telephone interview will be completed with a member of the treatment team, along with a confirmation of benefits and clinical review. During the first day of the program the client will meet with our psychiatrist and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop their treatment plan. The client is admitted into the partial hospitalization level of care. This includes:

  • Five to six hours of daily groups
  • Monday through Friday
  • All clinical specialties involved
  • Daily involvement
  • Often used as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization

Length of stay in the PHP level of care typically ranges from 5 to 15 treatment days.

Since 1992, our interdisciplinary team of experienced clinicians has delivered services that meet the needs of both our clients and their outpatient treatment providers. These services include:

  • Physician-led treatment
  • Proven treatment methods
  • Thorough psychiatric, psychological and psychosocial assessment
  • Availability of inpatient hospitalization
  • Thoughtful aftercare planning
  • Close collaboration with outpatient providers
  • Simple referral process
