Healing Without Barriers: TriHealth’s Free Health Center
September 11, 2025

At TriHealth, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate and comprehensive health care. That belief drives everything we do, and it’s the foundation of our Good Samaritan Free Health Center—a place where compassion meets action and where we live out our mission to improve the health of the people we serve.

What Is the Free Health Center?

The Free Health Center is more than just a clinic—it’s a lifeline for our neighbors in Cincinnati who are uninsured. Our goal is to provide these patients, who are disproportionately at risk for chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, the medical care they need to enjoy a higher quality of life. Every day, our team of volunteer physicians, nurses, and others show up with one goal: to provide high-quality care to anyone who walks through our doors, regardless of their ability to pay.

We offer a wide range of services, including:

  • Primary Care: Routine checkups, chronic disease management, and health education.
  • Behavioral Health: Mental wellness support and counseling.
  • Preventive Screenings: Diabetes, blood pressure, and other early detection services.
  • Interpreter Services: Ensuring language is never a barrier to care.
  • Transportation Assistance: Helping patients get to and from appointments.
  • Charity Care: Over $14 million in charity care provided annually—because no one should have to choose between health and hardship.
  • Integrated dental care; treating the entire person
  • Food Pantry
  • Women’s health
  • Specialty services
  • Dietician counseling
  • Pharmacy support

Why It Matters

For us at TriHealth, this work is deeply personal. We’ve seen firsthand how the Free Health Center transforms lives. It’s a cornerstone of our population health strategy, which means we’re not just treating illness—we’re preventing it. We’re addressing the root causes of poor health, like housing, food insecurity, and access to education. We’re building a healthier Cincinnati, one patient at a time.
